Four Drivers, One Crown: Homestead-Miami Set to Host Epic Season Finale

The stage is officially set for a thrilling conclusion to the season. This Sunday, May 17th, the engines will roar under the lights at Homestead-Miami Speedway for the ultimate championship showdown. With the title on the line, four standout drivers will battle it out for glory starting at 10:30 PM EST.

Coming off an incredibly dominant showing at Martinsville Speedway last weekend—where these Championship 4 contenders finished first, second, third, and eighth—momentum is at an all-time high. Every driver is firing on all cylinders heading into the final green flag of the year.

Championship 4: How They Stack Up Heading Into Sunday Night

The battle at the top couldn't be tighter, with Reece Schaefer and Joseph Causey separated by a razor-thin margin, while Derek Garrison and Justin Levine look to close the gap and steal the crown.

Schaefer enters the finale as the points leader with five wins, 12 top-five finishes, 15 top-10s, 899 laps led, and six poles. His season-long speed has placed him in control of the championship picture, but the margin remains razor-thin.

There’s no pressure, it’s all for fun anyway. Just going out there and having a good race at Homestead,

Schaefer said.

Causey sits just one point back after one of the strongest statistical seasons in the field. He leads the Championship 4 in wins with six and top-five finishes with 13, while also collecting 16 top-10s, 520 laps led, and four poles. When asked after the race what he needed to do in the season finale at Homestead, knowing there is little room for error, Causey kept his focus simple: execute a clean race.

We just have to have a clean race and execute at Homestead,

Causey said.

Derek Garrison enters the finale 13 points behind Schaefer. Garrison has put together a consistent season with two wins, 11 top-five finishes, 15 top-10s, 186 laps led, and two poles as he looks to capture his first league championship.

Justin Levine rounds out the Championship 4, sitting 17 points back. Levine has five wins, 11 top-five finishes, 15 top-10s, 506 laps led, and one pole. While he faces the largest deficit of the four, a strong run at Homestead could still put him in position to contend.

With all four drivers bringing different strengths into the finale, Sunday night’s championship race at Homestead-Miami Speedway is set up to be a battle of speed, execution, and mistake-free racing.
