WEST ALLIS, WI — The historic Milwaukee Mile played host to a dramatic 100 lap thriller this week, featuring strategic gambles, treacherous track conditions, and an incredible comeback story that culminated in a deeply emotional trip to victory lane for Christian Shriver.

Early Dominance and Turn 4 Troubles

The event kicked off with incredible speed from Truth Hoke, who claimed the pole position with a blistering lap time of 30.479. Hoke appeared to be the undisputed driver to beat, taking early control and going on to lead a race high 69 laps.

However, the track proved unforgiving, particularly at the exit of Turn 4. Throughout the first half of the race, drivers battled a notoriously loose condition coming off the corner. Several competitors spun and made contact with the inside wall, though the racing action stayed green through these early incidents.

The caution flag finally flew on Lap 50 when Christian Shriver went aero loose and spun, marking the beginning of a chaotic mid race stretch.

Chaos and Collisions

Following the Lap 50 caution, the field struggled to find its rhythm. On Lap 58, the yellow flag waved again after Bud Shearer and Sebastian Chenail collided and spun, unfortunately collecting Shriver in the process. Just five laps later, the final caution of the day came out on Lap 63 when Timothy Causey was turned heading into Turn 1.

A Strategic Masterclass

Despite spinning on Lap 50 and getting caught up in the Lap 58 wreck, Christian Shriver and his team refused to quit. In a pivotal late race decision, Shriver was one of the only drivers to pit for fresh tires. From there, he executed a masterful fuel saving strategy to stretch his tank to the checkered flag.

While Truth Hoke's dominant run was derailed by a strategy misstep ultimately relegating the pole sitter to a 12th place finish, Shriver capitalized. Driving through the field on his fresh rubber, Shriver led 29 laps, clocked a fast lap of 30.887, and secured an incredible comeback victory.

An Emotional Dedication

In victory lane, an exhausted and elated Shriver reflected on the grueling race and the emotional weight of the win, dedicating the performance to a lost friend.

"Been in the league for 6-8 years and have won races and championships. Came back from a hiatus, found out about a good friend Mathew Hodferd. He passed on and was one of the biggest supporters of this league. If I can just get one more win in this league for him, I'd die happy!"

Reflecting on his chaotic path to the checkered flag, the veteran driver was left in disbelief by his own comeback.

"I've been waiting a long time to finally end up here and don't know how I got it here of all places. I'm just out of breath and can't thank everyone enough."
