Grant Steals the Show in Epic CRL 100 at Eldora
ROSSBURG, OH — The clay flew and the drama delivered as the highly anticipated CRL 100 took over the iconic half mile dirt oval at Eldora Raceway. In a grueling test of endurance and slide job precision, Jacob Grant emerged victorious, breaking the hearts of the competition with a stunning late race overtake to claim the feature race crown.
The special 100 lap marathon was a landmark evening, not just for the drivers, but for the broadcast booth. It marked TurnSector Media’s first ever race into dirt race coverage, and the action on the track gave the production crew a spectacular debut.
The evening kicked off with a blistering 12 lap heat race, conquered by Kyre Mullaney. Showing incredible raw pace on the loose surface, Mullaney not only took the heat victory but also laid down the absolute fastest lap of the night, clocking in at a lightning quick 14.969 seconds.
When the main event rolled off, it quickly became the Noah Miles show. Miles looked entirely untouchable for the majority of the night, commanding the field and expertly navigating the slick, shifting grooves of Eldora. However, surviving 100 laps on dirt is rarely a straightforward affair. The feature was a chaotic, stop and start battle of attrition, punctuated by 12 separate cautions. With league rules stating that caution laps did not count toward the 100 lap total, the event stretched into a true marathon of mental stamina.
Despite the yellow flags, the racing at the front was relentless. Fans were treated to an astonishing 26 lead changes as drivers traded aggressive slide jobs and crossover moves in the corners. Miles controlled the tempo through the chaos, but as the final laps approached, his grip on the top spot finally began to slip.
Timing his move perfectly, Jacob Grant hunted down the dominant leader. In the closing stages of the race, Grant executed a brilliant overtake to wrestle the lead away from Miles, finding the traction he needed to drive away and capture a spectacular victory in the CRL 100. It was a fitting, breathless end to a historic night of sim racing on the dirt.
